Dukan Refinery provides significant momentum to the development of the energy sector in the region
Dukan Refinery became operational in 2012 in Dukan Governorate of Sulaymaniyah. The refinery, established by European technology companies, stands out as the most modern and advanced refinery facility in the region.
The refinery was designed to produce various petroleum products from crude oil with a capacity of 2000 thousand barrels per day. The facility, which can produce different oil derivatives such as white oil, light gas, petroleum, fuel oil and light gasoline, uses the most advanced technologies.
One of the important features of the Dukan Refinery is its economical design efficiencies. Especially thanks to heat exchangers, highly efficient heat exchange between feed crude oil and distillate products ensures energy saving.
The refinery has a large staff of more than 520 expert members and technical personnel. These personnel are specialized in technical, mechanical and administrative fields, enabling Dukan Refinery to maintain superior quality production.
Expansion of the refinery is also being considered among future plans. In the second phase, it is planned to increase the capacity of the crude distillation unit and apply new technologies to reduce sulfur components.
